Fall Programming
The Horsemens' Association has some standing events on a weekly basis and leads special in-house workshops on educational topics. All students and community members are welcome to attend. If it is a 'mounted' activity, where horses are present, make sure to bring your signed liability waiver to the first event of the academic year you attend!

Tuesday Trots
The Bleu Barn, is offering indoor riding opportunities including an open-ride hour, horsemanship patterns, and lesson horses available beginning in September. Ages 8-80 welcome! Signed waiver required.
Therapy Thursday
Equine Faith Horsemanship, a PATH certified riding center has offered training to handlers. This great PBL / resume building opportunity will allow volunteers to log hours assisting early childhood aged and disabled riders learn basics of safe horsemanship.
Bearcat Lead Workshops
EXTREME Cowboy by Chris Redden, Northwest Employee
Extreme Cowboy Association National Champion & Hall of Fame member and northwest employee Chris Redden to host obstacle demonstration on started vs. finished horse and provide instruction on negotiating obstacles with your own mount or lesson horse. Friendly to riders of all experience levels and disciplines.
"Hobby to Hustle" Equine Internships & Resume Help lead by C.J. Holthaus, Department of Language, Literature, & Writing
Small Group sessions (once 3-5 express interest, we'll meet) where we explore how to actively search for equine industry internships, explore the qualification requirements and how to word your application letter for internships currently available, and briefly look over your printed resume to give feedback before it reaches an employer's desk.

Introductory (Western) Dressage Mounted Workshop by Dr. Heather Hill, Department of Language, Literature, & Writing
Fundamentals clinic to improve horsemanship and introduce the sport of dressage from United States Pony Club B Level Graduate and experienced dressage competitor Dr. Heather Hill.

Barrels: Drills for Pattern Improvement and Increased Brokeness by Paige Meyer, One Dream Arena
Meyer is a Northwest Alum, buckle series coordinator, and boarding facility operator / trainer at One Dream Arena. She specializes in working young horses and beginning barrel racers for improved form and confidence and is a proponent that every horse and rider pair can be a competitive 2D horse and rider combination with the right application of effort and skills acquired.

Upcoming Clinic Opportunities
Our club occasionally travels together to professional clinics or educational opportunities. We will always carpool and split the cost of gas. Participation is optional and you'll generally want to plan on budgeting one meal for a day trip in addition to audit or admission fees.
